Manos Greek Taverna, Tagaytay City
Club Tourists tried Googling about Greek Restaurant in the Philippines and Manos Greek Taverna was the number 1 in the list. This very simple restaurant is quietly located along Calamba Road in Olivarez San Jose.
The restaurant structure is like typical Ancient Greek House. Its rectangular in shape painted in White. Once you've entered the restaurant, you can just notice the tables are covered with Blue and White sheets (just like in Greece Flag). Pictures of Greece's map, monuments and other popular places. Not to mention some collections of different wines. As simple as it gets.

Local folks and even tourists swarmed the restaurant because of its tasty delicacies. But wait, there's even more, all foods are cooked in Greek virgin oil from their olive plantations on the Island of Crete just like the old Greek tradition 2500 years ago. So whatever you may order, it is Guaranteed - Healthy! No chemicals No preservatives No Colorings and even Vetsin. Don't worry, just order and eat like a Rockstar.

The coolest thing here is you got the chance to meet the owner and his family. Manos Sapountzakis is the local celebrity in Tagaytay. Made famous by his very own recipe. Club Tourists got the chance to meet and greet Sir Manos and what can we say, he's very much like us Filipino's, he's very hospitable and welcoming. He'll spend even a minute of his time to chat with you about the food and your dining experience.

This is the first time that Club Tourists will blog a Hotel. Because of the great service and wonderful ambience, this hotel is worth mentioning.
One Tagaytay place just started 4th Quarter of 2008. The hotel was not classified as of the moment.
Club Tourists formulated a checklist to check if you're staying in a Good 3-5 Star Hotel:
1. Cleanliness?
Yes. From the lobby to the elevator up to the hall way and most especially the room.
2. Good Food?
Yes. Not a Buffet type but the breakfast is good. Your choice of an American and Filipino delicacies
3. Accessibility?
Yes. 5 minutes drive to Picnic Grove. 10 minutes drive going to Madison Square.
4. Warm Staff?
Yes. Very accommodating staff. Very attentive with the guests requests. Very courteous and polite
5. Wi-Fi Access?
Yes. But slow connection
6. Swimming Pool?
Yes. Good enough for small groups. With Kiddie pool.
7. Welcome Drinks?
Yes. Serving of juice drinks upon checking in
8. Comfortable Bed? (with clean sheets and soft pillows)
Yes. It feels like you don't want to go out your room anymore.
9. Quiet Environment?
Yes. No vehicle sounds. Really peace and quiet.
10. Functional Facilities? (Telephone, Lights, TV, Ref and Aircon)
Yes. All in good condition
11. Safety Deposit Box?
Yes. The deposit box is not working in our room but they have deposit box in the lobby area.
12. Hot and Cold Water?
Yes. Working fine.
13. Soap, Shampoo and other Toiletries?
Yes. Good for 1 pax only. Can be requested

Yes. Surveillance monitoring 24/7
15. Affordable?

No. The view is not what we expected for. We're expecting that our room is overlooking Taal Volcano but its not. But the good side in this hotel has a veranda.

Yes. Especially for BPI Credit Card holders. They offer discounts

20. Location Pickup/Transfer?
No. We are not offered to any of these.
Score: 18/20 - 90%
The verdict: PASSED

Via SLEX, take Sta. Rosa Exit and turn right after the expressway tollgates. This takes you to the Tagaytay-Sta. Rosa Road. Drive west, where you’ll pass by Paseo de Sta. Rosa, and travel all the way to the junction where the Tagaytay City Market is located. Turn left at the junction toward Picnic Grove and People’s Park in the Sky. Our Tagaytay lodge, found on the left side of the highway, is about 800 meters from this junction. 711 is infront of the hotel and Southridge Estate is on its right.
From the Aguinaldo Highway, drive straight toward Tagaytay Circle (Rotunda). Turn left toward Picnic Grove and People’s Park.

ZAMBOANGA HERMOSA FESTIVAL

Zamboanga La Hermosa Festival or the popurlay known as Fiesta Pilar, is held in honor of the miraculous image of Our Lady of the Pilar at the legendary Fort Pila. The people of Zamboanga fervently believe that the lady has served as their unifying cultural and historical symbol. In commemoration of her feast day, Zamboanga displays its devotion and enthusiasm with a nine-night procession, fireworks, an ethnic parade, a cultural show, a regatta, and the Miss Zamboanga parade.

PAGODA (Feast of St. Francis of Assissi)
October 4 | Cardona, Rizal
The Pagoda or procession in the lake is annually held to ask the Lord Almighty for a bountiful and blessed lake through the intercession of St. Francis of Assisi. The Pagoda entourage consists of the main boat carrying the image of St. Francis accompanied by boats with musical bands to provide the music and other boats and/or motorized bancas carrying the religious residents and visitors.
SINANGGIYAW FESTIVAL
October 4 | Dumanju, Cebu
The name Sinanggi-yaw is taken from two old Cebuano words, "Sinanggi" meaning abundance of harvested agricultural products of our farmers and "Sayaw" meaning dance. Every year, the Sinanggi-yaw Festival draws together exhibitors, song, dance, and other cultural performances to give thanks for a full and good harvest.

INUG-OG FESTIVAL

It is a showcase of ethnic dances on the street as tribute to Oroquieta City’s patron saint, Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary.
KAPAKYANAN FESTIVAL
October 14 - October 15 | Victoria, Mindoro Oriental
Kapakyanan means abundance. The festival focuses on the bountiful harvest of fruits and crops. Its highlights are street dancing and a beauty pageant with agriculture as the central theme. Kapakyanan is a Mangyan term which means “kasaganaan” or abundance.
HALAD FESTIVAL
October 15 | Talisay City, Cebu
In celebration of the feast in honor of Sta. Teresa de Avila, the city comes alive with activities such trade fairs, nightly variety shows, civic parade and street dancing featuring city’s famous products like lechon, cooking demonstration & food fair with tastiest lechon contest.
KASANGGAYAHAN FESTIVAL
October 15 - October 25 | Sorsogon, Sorsogon
Every October of each year, the Kasanggayahan Festival is celebrated in Sorsogon in commemoration of its foundation as a Province. It is a province-wide festival, with the center of activities in Sorsogon City.
SAGINGAN FESTIVAL
October 16 - 17 | Tubod, Lanao del Norte
A celebration of thanksgiving and bounty featuring the banana.
BUGLASAN FESTIVAL
October 16 - 25 | Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental
The main part will be in the Sidlakan Village but the whole City of Generator people will be in Festival Fever. The highlight of the Buglasan Festival 2009 in Dumaguete will be the streetdance contest in the morning of Friday the 23 followed by the Bugalsan Parade through the road-construction sides of Dumaguete City in the afternoon of the same day. LEYTE GULF LANDING ANNIVERSARY
October 17 - October 20 | Dulag and Palo, Leyte
Leyte Gulf Philippines annually witnesses the attendance of dignitaries coming from the U.S., Allied Forces, and Japan to attend the Anniversary of the Leyte Gulf Landings every October 20.

A festive reunion of different “Mangyan” tribes.
ANA KALANG FESTIVAL

A roster-full of activities highlighting an agri-fair that exhibits the town's bountiful harvest of Lanzones. The festival is named after Ana Kalang. A beautiful leader, allegedly saw the Virgin Sta. Ana, who took the poison out of the lanzones fruit so that it can be edible.
MASSKARA FESTIVAL
October 19 | Bacolod City
Bacolod City never seems to lose its luster, especially when Masskara celebration comes. The annual Masskara Festival Held in Bacolod City every October is a celebration which has earned for Bacolod the title "City of Smiles". The Lanzones fruit is a major source of the Camiguin Islands' livelihood and it is for the annual

We consider aswang simply a myth, with no factual basis. It does not exist except in the imagination of people. Second, to promote economic growth by helping small businessmen. We do this through trade exhibits during the festival.Third, to promote Capiz as a good tourist destination by highlighting its famous sea food products, fine beaches and other local scenery.”

Clarke Quay, Singapore
Sharing some of the sites while breeze walking in one of the famous places in Singapore - Clarke Quay. This place is named after Sir Andrew Clarke - this man made a big difference in the history of Singapore, aside from being the second Governor in history, he was one of the guys who strategically positioned Singapore as main ports for Malay states. Quay (can be pronounced as "ki", "kei" or "kwei") in simple English is a pier or wharf where ships may stop over to load or unload stuffs.

Korea Garden Restaurant, Makati City
You've tried Japanese, Chinese and American Food already, right? Now, try the Korean dish. Korean cuisine is largely based on rice, noodles, tofu, vegetables and meat. One distinct feature about Korean food is their side dishes. An average of 5 side dishes around your table. Not bad for an appetizer huh?
Club Tourists tried Korea Garden located in Jupiter Street in Makati. As we've enter the place, white table sheets with fine table preparation welcomed us. A simple fine dine restaurant for your. But mind you, the price is not that expensive. An average of Php 200 bucks per meal. Great deal right?

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Our first stop, is the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport. This is located somewhere in the far north already. Basically in Subic, Pampanga. We've landed in this airport since we've chosen Air Asia as our carrier to Kuala Lumpur. Air Asia's terminal is only located there so we have no choice but to abide.
Travel period from Philippines to Malaysia is around 6 hours. So while in the plane, we've fine tuned our Itineraries to be able to make sure that we will not miss different must see's in the country. Of course, after the "review", we ended up sleeping to make sure that we have the strength to tour Kuala Lumpur.
We checked-in in Bintang Warisan Hotel. The hotel is very accessible to almost anything! Almost 2-3 blocks from our hotel is Pasar Malam Night Market and the Pavilion. We went to the Night Market to get us some "Pasalubong".
We rested early to make sure that we can wake up in the morning for the Batu Cave. Unfortunately, due to some circumstances, we woke up late. hehe! Anyways, we went straight up to Batu Cave. When you're here, you'll be thinking, are we in India already? Lot's of Indians around since this is a place of worship for them. Huge statues of different Hindu gods covered almost the whole place. Mind you, if you plan to travel here, better bring an umbrella and lots of water because the place is very humid. whew!
After taking some shots in Batu Cave, we are very hungry to the extent that we don't know where to eat. Until we've bumped in this resto named - Chicken Rice Shop. Set meals are somewhat cheap and good for 4 persons. Not bad for a 33RM meal.
Next stop is the National Museum. Actually, we went here by an accident. We tried the Hop-Off, Hop-On bus and to our surprise, it costs a fortune! Huwaaaw! Roughly 44RM for 24hour ride in the city. We are expecting that there is some sort of a minimum wage when going to the next hop-off points but unfortunately, once you ride the bus, you're gonna pay the whole rate.
KL Telecommunication Tower (Menara KL) is one of the known tower in KL. When we got their, they have other recreations like Snow village and Zip line.
On our last day, we ended up going to Sunway Lagoon Theme Park. We like the concept of this park. It's a combination of Splash Island and Enchanted Kingdom. Nice place for the family!
Last stop, Genting Highlands! One unforgettable experience that we had here was we rode the cable car 3 times! whew! At first, it's pretty awesome but eventually you'll be bored in it. Anyways, Genting Highland is a theme park for the family. They have an outdoor and indoor park that can really satisfy whatever adventure you may have. We suggest if you'll come here, better book your room here and have a whole day tour of the place.

Sad part in our tour is we haven't got the chance to climb on top of the Petronas Twin Towers. However, we didn't bother to take some shots outside of one of the tallest high riser in the world
